Robot Test Cell

International automation brand needed a safe cell for testing of robots, manipulators and end-of-arm tools.


The client, an international automation brand, is at the forefront of factory automation technology with a wide range of robotic products and end-of-arm systems. To enable safe testing of robot systems the client required a standalone cell with pedestal for securing numerous variations of robotic arms.


Project Engineering engaged with the client to gain a full understanding of their requirements and project constraints. After digesting this information, a scope of work was developed for delivery of a CE marked robotic test system to meet the clients current and future needs.


Our engineers used 3D CAD software and FEA to design a versatile robotic platform capable of supporting numerous different robot models and withstanding all loads transferred during testing.  As Ireland’s leading value added reseller of Axelent machine guarding, our engineers applied expert product knowledge to design a guarding arrangement to achieve the requirements of the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC and to best suit the application.


Capitalising on our three core competencies; Mechanical Design, CE Marking & Machine Safety Guarding Solutions allowed Project Engineering to deliver a complete robot test system to meet the clients’ requirements. Engaging Project Engineering allowed the client to proceed with development and testing of the next generation of robotic products with confidence and assurance.
